Customer Contacts
Effective management of customers contacts forms the foundation of the
CRM system. All business activities focus on customers and contacts.
The CRM system defines 3 types of of contacts:
- Leads
- Contacts to single persons
- Contacts to an organization
All types of information can be captured for each contact group.
Contacts should be linked to a stage of the sales process. By
referencing to sales processes contacts are handled efficiently. Here
is a typical sales process:
- A first contact wth a prospectve customer develops potential
need for your products and services. This is not clearly qualified to
business opportunity. The lead will contain all data about the contact
and record and contain all sellling activity.
- This lead status is held til the lead is qualified to a Business Potential.
All activities related to this lead are listed in CRM. If a business
opportunity arises the lead is converted to Potential. All information
collated for the lead is now visible in the potential. By using this
process, the CRM is not overloaded with useless data. Only qualified
business contacts and business opportunities are created. Accounts and
contacts can be created directly if they do not fit the described
procedure.
